Byzantine |

In Istanbul there are so many Byzantine churches.
Some of them are museums and many of them are ruins and
many still undiscovered by the local people and the
tourist, many are now places of Muslim worship; and there
are many great Greek and Byzantine mosaics in them. As
many as 450 were documented circe the Byzantine Empire
which lasted about 1100 years. In Istanbul there are lot
of churches - Catholic, Protestant, Russian orthodox, but
mainly we go to see Byzantine - some of them in our
activity are but walls left of ancient ruins. Idea : this tour gives a good feeling
of understanding the oldest churches in Istanbul. |
