Büyük ada stretches in the North-Souht direction of the Marmara Sea and consists of two hills .Important tourist attractions are the Jesus Hill in the North ,Yücetepe in the Souht and Cape Dil in the West of the island.

The island is inhabited mainly by Levantian minorities and is a very popular holiday resort for foreigners, especially in the summer season. Transportation in the islands is provided with carriages since since motor traffic is not allowed.
